Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 stick Unsalted butter
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Raisins
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut the butter into small pieces and add it to the bowl. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in the raisins.
  7. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times to bring it together.
  8. Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick.
  9. Use a round cookie cutter or a glass to cut out scones from the dough.
  10. Place the scones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  11. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.
  12. Serve warm with butter, jam, or clotted cream.
