Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Molasses
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 cup Hot water
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the molasses and egg, and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the hot water.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the gingerbread loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, slice and serve.
