Ingredients
  • 3 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup Warm water
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 6 leaves Fresh basil leaves (optional)
Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until the yeast is foamy.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder.
  3. Add yogurt and olive oil to the yeast mixture and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and knead until a soft dough forms.
  5. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 500°F (260°C) and place a baking stone or baking sheet in the oven.
  7. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and roll each portion into a circle.
  8. If desired, sprinkle fresh basil leaves on top of the naan.
  9. Carefully transfer the naan onto the preheated baking stone or baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 2-3 minutes until the naan puffs up and the bottom is golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and brush with melted butter.
  12. Serve warm and enjoy!
