Ingredients
  • 150 gram Butter
  • 150 gram Granulated sugar
  • 1 unit Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 300 gram All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 200 gram Powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoon Milk
  • 6 drop Food coloring
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar.
  2. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. Divide the dough in half and shape each half into a disk. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes.
  8. Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool completely on wire racks.
  10. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Divide the glaze into separate bowls and add food coloring to each bowl to create desired colors.
  11. Decorate the cooled cookies with the glaze using a piping bag or small spoon.
  12. Let the glaze set before serving.
