  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a round cake tin.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. In a small bowl, prepare the custard powder according to the package instructions.
  7. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared tin, then spoon the custard over the batter.
  8. Pour the remaining cake batter over the custard.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the cake to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
