Ingredients
  • 2 cup Chayotes
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 clove Garlic
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 tablespoon All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Parsley
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and dice the chayotes.
  3. In a pot of boiling water, cook the chayotes for 10 minutes or until tender. Drain and set aside.
  4. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over the onion and garlic mixture. Stir well to combine.
  6. Slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  7. Add the cooked chayotes to the skillet and stir to coat them with the creamy sauce.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle the cheddar cheese on top.
  9. Bake for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
