Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Cook until the butter turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let it cool for 5 minutes.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the brown butter to the mixing bowl while whisking continuously.

Add the all-purpose flour and mix until well combined.

Fold in the dried cranberries.

Roll the dough into a log shape and wrap it tightly in plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Slice the chilled dough into 1/4-inch thick rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Brush each cookie with maple syrup.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
