  • 1.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 cup Powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg.
  4. Gradually mix in the flour mixture, alternating with the milk. Stir in the vanilla extract, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the top of the cake before serving.
