Ingredients
  • 500 gram Potatoes
  • 300 gram Cabbage
  • 50 gram Butter
  • 100 ml Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Pepper
Instructions
  1. Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks.
  2. Place the potatoes in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15 minutes or until tender.
  3. While the potatoes are cooking, shred the cabbage.
  4. In a separate pot, melt the butter and add the shredded cabbage. Cook for about 10 minutes or until the cabbage is softened.
  5. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash them with a potato masher or fork.
  6. Add the cooked cabbage, milk, salt, and pepper to the mashed potatoes. Stir well to combine.
  7. Cook the colcannon over low heat for a few minutes until heated through.
  8. Serve hot as a side dish.
