Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork. Add the granulated sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the swirl.
  5. Pour half of the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter. Swirl the mixture into the batter using a knife or skewer. Repeat with the remaining batter and cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. To make the pecan praline glaze, melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and heavy cream. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped pecans.
  8. Drizzle the pecan praline glaze over the cooled banana bread. Slice and serve.
