Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

In a small bowl, mix together the ground cinnamon, brown sugar, and chopped walnuts.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter. Repeat with the remaining batter and cinnamon sugar mixture.

Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
