  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Cut the butter into small cubes and add it to the dry ingredients. Use your fingers to rub the butter into the mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add it to the mixture. Stir until well combined.
  5. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the greased baking dish to form the base.
  6. Spread the mincemeat evenly over the base.
  7. Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the top of the mincemeat.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the dish for at least 1 hour before slicing into squares or slices.
