  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease and lightly flour four ramekins.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together, stirring until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until well combined.
  4. Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
  5. Add the flour, vanilla extract, and salt to the chocolate mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
  7. Bake for 12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly jiggly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the cakes rest in the ramekins for 5 minutes.
  9. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate, tapping gently to release the cakes.
  10. Serve immediately, garnished with powdered sugar or a scoop of ice cream if desired.
