  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and dark chocolate together.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring continuously.
  5. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, and mix until just combined.
  6. If desired, fold in the walnuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
