  • 0.5 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon Almond extract
  • 2.5 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 2 tablespoon Almond milk
  • 2 tablespoon Sliced almonds (for garnish)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  6. Stir in the almond extract.
  7. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. In a mixing bowl, beat the powdered sugar, butter, and almond milk until smooth and creamy.
  11. Once the cupcakes are completely cooled, frost them with the almond buttercream frosting.
  12. Sprinkle sliced almonds on top for garnish.
  13. Let the cupcakes rest for 30 minutes before serving.
