  2. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, chocolate chips, chopped walnuts or pecans, vanilla extract, melted unsalted butter, and eggs.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Scoop the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cupcakes are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
