Ingredients
  • 1.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 piece Large egg
  • 2 tablespoon Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Heat a griddle or non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.
  6. Drop 1/4 cup portions of batter onto the griddle and spread slightly with the back of a spoon.
  7. Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Transfer cooked pancakes to a plate and keep warm. Repeat with remaining batter.
  9. Serve the pancakes with maple syrup and additional chocolate chips if desired.
