Ingredients
  • 2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 large Egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 4 ounces Semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1/2 cup Whipped cream
  • to taste for garnish Chocolate shavings
Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks. Gradually whisk in about 1/2 cup of the hot milk mixture to temper the yolks.
  4. Slowly pour the tempered yolks back into the saucepan, whisking constantly.
  5. Cook the mixture for an additional 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  6. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and chopped chocolate until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
  7. Pour the pudding into individual serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
  8. Serve chilled, topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
