Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/4 cup Molasses
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup Granulated sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, molasses, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in granulated sugar to coat.
  6. Place the coated dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes.
  9. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
