Ingredients
  • 2 pound Potatoes
  • 2 cup Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 tablespoon All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 0.5 cup Green Onions
  • 4 strips Bacon
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the milk while whisking continuously. Cook until the sauce thickens.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 1 cup of cheddar cheese until melted.
  6. Season the sauce with salt and black pepper.
  7. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes.
  8. Pour half of the cheese sauce over the potatoes.
  9. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes and cheese sauce.
  10. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  11. Remove the foil and sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
  12. Bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  13. While the casserole is baking, cook the bacon until crispy and chop into small pieces.
  14. Remove the casserole from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  15. Garnish with chopped green onions and crispy bacon.
  16. Serve hot and enjoy!
