Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup Maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut the butter into small pieces and add it to the flour mixture. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times to bring it together.
  7. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle and cut out scones using a round cutter.
  8. Place the scones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.
  10. Allow the scones to cool on a wire rack before serving.
