  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the blueberries, nectarines, lemon juice, granulated sugar, and cornstarch. Toss gently to coat the fruit evenly. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined.
  5. Pour the fruit mixture into a baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough on top of the fruit, leaving some gaps for the filling to bubble through.
  7. Sprinkle the turbinado sugar over the top.
