Ingredients
  • 1.5 cup Blood oranges
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 4 tablespoon Butter
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon Powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Zest and juice the blood oranges. Set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
  7. Stir in the blood orange zest and juice, as well as the vanilla extract.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  11. Transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
