Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, cold
  • 1/2 cup Ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Chopped walnuts
  • 2 tablespoon Milk
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut the cold butter into small cubes and add it to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the mashed bananas, egg, vanilla extract, and milk.
  5. Pour the banana mixture into the flour mixture and stir until just combined. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it gently a few times until it comes together.
  7. Shape the dough into a circle about 1-inch thick. Cut the circle into 8 wedges.
  8. Place the scones onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the scones cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before serving.
