Ingredients
  • 2 cup Apples
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 2 unit Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup Whole milk
  • For the salted caramel fondue:
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoon Unsalted butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon Sea salt
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, vanilla extract, and milk.
  5. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped apples.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  10. Meanwhile, prepare the salted caramel fondue by combining the sugar, cream, butter, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  11. Remove the cake from the pan and transfer to a serving plate.
  12. Serve the apple cake warm with the salted caramel fondue on the side.
