  2. Peel, core, and chop the apples into small pieces.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped apples, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and salt.
  5. Cut the unsalted butter into small cubes and add it to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Add the cold water to the flour mixture and stir until the dough comes together.
