Ingredients
  • 300 grams Apples
  • 150 grams Prunes
  • 150 grams Peaches
  • 100 grams Butter
  • 100 grams Brown sugar
  • 200 grams Self-raising flour
  • 100 grams Breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Mixed spice
  • 2 units Eggs
  • 100 milliliters Milk
  • 50 milliliters Brandy
  • 50 grams Almonds
  • 50 grams Candied cherries
Instructions
  1. Grease a pudding basin with butter.
  2. Peel and core the apples, then chop them into small pieces.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped apples, prunes, peaches, butter, brown sugar, self-raising flour, breadcrumbs, mixed spice, eggs, milk, brandy, almonds, and candied cherries.
  4. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly combined.
  5. Spoon the mixture into the greased pudding basin and smooth the top.
  6. Cover the basin with a double layer of greased baking paper and secure with string.
  7. Place the pudding basin in a large saucepan and add enough boiling water to come halfway up the sides of the basin.
  8. Cover the saucepan with a lid and simmer gently for 2 hours.
  9. Remove the pudding basin from the saucepan and allow it to rest for 1 hour.
  10. Carefully remove the baking paper and turn the pudding out onto a serving plate.
  11. Serve the Christmas pudding warm with custard or brandy butter.
