  3. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the milk and egg until the dough comes together.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for 5 minutes.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread the apple slices evenly over the dough.
  8. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture over the apples.
  9. Starting from one long side, roll up the dough tightly.
  10. Cut the rolled dough into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  11. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Allow the buns to cool for 15 minutes before serving.
