Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, combine rolled oats, desiccated coconut, all-purpose flour, and brown sugar.

In a small saucepan, melt butter and golden syrup over low heat.

In a separate small bowl, dissolve baking soda in boiling water.

Add the melted butter mixture and baking soda mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix well.

Roll tablespoonfuls of the mixture into balls and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a fork.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

Allow the biscuits to cool on the baking tray for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
