Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Hot water
  • 1 cup Dark chocolate
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup Powdered sugar
  • to taste for garnish Chocolate shavings
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  6. Stir in the hot water until the batter is smooth.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and pour over the dark chocolate. Let it sit for a minute, then stir until smooth.
  11. Let the ganache cool slightly, then pour it over the cooled cake.
  12. Sprinkle powdered sugar and chocolate shavings on top for garnish.
  13. Serve and enjoy!
