Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Peel, core, and slice the apples.

In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.

Cut in the unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Beat the egg and vanilla extract in a separate bowl, then add it to the flour mixture. Mix until well combined.

Press half of the dough into the prepared baking dish.

Arrange the sliced apples over the dough.

Crumble the remaining dough over the apples.
