Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut them into desired tartlet shapes. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until onions are translucent.

Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their moisture and become tender.

Stir in heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Cook for a few more minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.

Spoon the mushroom mixture onto the puff pastry tartlets.

In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush it over the edges of the tartlets.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the tartlets are golden brown and crispy.

Remove from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.
