Black & White Shortbread Wedges
Shortbread originated in Scotland and has been enjoyed for centuries. It was traditionally made with just three ingredients: butter, sugar, and flour.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 75 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 6.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a square baking pan.

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the vanilla extract and mix well.

Gradually add the all-purpose flour and mix until a crumbly dough forms.

Divide the dough into two equal portions. In one portion, mix in the cocoa powder until well combined.

Press the white shortbread dough into the bottom of the prepared pan evenly.

Layer the chocolate shortbread dough on top, pressing it down gently.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

Transfer the shortbread onto a cutting board and let it cool completely.

Melt the white chocolate and drizzle it over the cooled shortbread.

Allow the chocolate to set for 20 minutes.

Cut into wedges and serve.
