Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.

In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Cut in the unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Reserve 1 cup of the crumb mixture for the topping. Press the remaining mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.

In a separate bowl, beat together the creamy peanut butter, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread the peanut butter mixture evenly over the crust.

Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped peanuts over the peanut butter layer. Crumble the reserved crumb mixture over the top.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Allow to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.

Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 1 hour before cutting into bars. Serve and enjoy!
